“I saw Chungking for the first time more than 40 years ago –
a city of hills and mists,
of grays and lavenders,
two rivers shaping it to a point
and the cliff rising above me like a challenge.”
Theodore H. White
This photograph taken by me last summer in Ireland, just as it was about to rain, reminds of this saying by Theodore H White, even though, he was speaking of China, and I am talking about Ireland!
And, as to whether it is ‘grey’ or ‘gray’ here is a link to an article on the differences between the British and the US English. I personally prefer the American version on this particular word, ‘Gray’ – for it looks so much prettier than the plain-old-dull ‘Grey’.
Hard to beat the Blonde’s logic on this, eh?!!
(Not a thing has been done to the photo, it is just as it was when clicked & taken!)

I do not wish to think of snow, that we have by the bucket load!
I do not wish to think of cold, it is only freeezing!
I do not wish to think of winter …
So hence, this
TENDER MOMENTS – before the sunset –
taken in Jerusalem a couple summers ago.
Do you feel the warmth and glorious glow of the hot day that was?
Aaah… those were them days, i say.
The photo is totally untouched even though it looks like watercolour painting.

Transport the old–fashioned way,
and the new …
‘The old Sofiankatu in the heart of Helsinki is a cosy open-air museum, which presents street pavements and street furniture from the late 18th century to the 1930s. The Street Museum was specially commended in the European Museum of the Year Award 2002 competition.’

I saw this joke online somewhere and liked it very much indeed.
The picture is taken from online as well.
Keep ye so grand and safe.
Bags are not a luxury under one’s eyes per se but the ones one has are a not just any ol’ bags, but the best of the best, you see, you see!! :)))
WHICH OF THE BAGS IN THE PICTURE APPEALS TO YOUR TASTE THE MOST? I like number 3 the best.

Beauty is a fragile gift.
Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis)
Commonly known as the Lily of the Valley or Lily-of-the-Valley, is the only species in the genus Convallaria in the flowering plant family Ruscaceae, formerly placed in the lily family Liliaceae or in its own family called Convallariaceae.
Lily of the Valley is highly poisonous, by the way; but very beautiful, methinks. I took a series of photos on the LoV last summer and this is one of them. Fragile, to me it says. This flower is the national flower of FInland.

He sure looks the ‘ticket’ in the sticks, eh?!
I’d say that that tunic he is wearing is
rather on the barest of bear essentials all right!!
But of course, then it was the high fashion, naturally.
Those days the in-fashion magazine was called ‘Cave People’;
these days it is just called ‘People’!
But i’d bet that the carry on is just what it always was:
Tis for now, Rii :)_)
